How can we help?
viewlog for iOS — questions, troubleshooting, and feedback.
Contact us
Email is the best way to reach viewlog. A real person reads every message — send a bug report, a question, or an idea.
- We usually reply within 1–2 business days.
- Tell us your iOS version and what happened — it helps us help you faster.
- Bug reports, questions, and feature ideas are all welcome.
Getting started
viewlog turns a phrase you see in the real world into a card you can review later. The basic loop:
- Take a screenshot or photo of the language you want to keep — a subtitle, a sign, a page, a chat.
- Open viewlog and choose the image. Optionally brush-highlight the exact phrase you care about.
- Tap Done. viewlog reads the image and creates a card — or several candidate cards from a vocabulary list — that you can edit and save.
- Saved cards are organized into language spaces and scheduled for review.
Capturing and scanning
The scan picked up the wrong text. Brush-highlight just the phrase you want before tapping Done, and make sure the text is in focus and readable. Very long or low-contrast images are harder to read accurately.
viewlog asked for photo or camera access. It needs access only to the image you choose so it can read it. You can grant limited or selected-photos access — viewlog never scans your photo library in the background.
A scan failed or timed out. AI scanning needs an internet connection. Check your connection and try again. If it keeps failing, email us and include what you were trying to capture.
Reviewing your cards
Open Review to go through the cards that are due. Cards use spaced repetition, so they come back at the right time — swipe to mark each one remembered or not.
Everything you save lives in Library, where you can search the full text of your cards and filter by language. You can edit a card's phrase, meaning, and examples at any time.
Your data and privacy
viewlog is local-first. Your saved cards and review history are stored on your device. When you run an AI scan, the selected image and/or extracted text is sent securely to our AI provider to create cards. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
To delete a card, remove it inside viewlog. To remove all local app data, delete the app from your device.
Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Availability and account
viewlog is in early access on iOS and is free while in early access. If you'd like an invite, add your email to the waitlist on the viewlog home page and we'll be in touch.
You don't need an account to capture and review — your cards are stored on your device.
